Alan I don't know where you live but if you are in England I'd be very suspicious of a gardener who claims to grow plums in April. Heather |

Nell, thanks so much for that info re Sol O'Mon. I could have spent a fortune looking for him and not realising I should transfer my search from the middle east to Craggy Island. |

Laird. I think your onto something there and............ 'You really got me going, you got me so I cant sleep at night' I knew there was some kind of a connection with Lola and a sunset in Waterloo. Ive also heard there is a possibillity that she could be connected to a Napoleon Bonaparte c1769?? I wonder if you Could confirm if Lola was once a famous dancer too? Im sure it would have been c60/70s, Only rumour has it, that she used to 'come dancing at the local pally', perhaps Napoleon Bonaparte was the secret partner every one talk about! Tracy x |

On later censuses, Napolean Bonaparte was entered simply as 'Boney, N'. Unfortunately this got mistranscribed as 'Boney M'. I believe that he also went into the vinyl business, something to do with the rivers of Babington (though that might have been mistranscribed, too)... |

Forget Pallots index, I have found a collection of charts which cover the whole of the country. I was hoping to track down two brothers Con and Dec Cluskey, the trouble is they have declared themselves to be Bachelors and Irish to boot. I believe that will make it very difficult to trace any offspring. Linda |

Richard. It as suddenly occured to me that the river Badington you refer to, was where that mad Russian guy 'R.A. R.A. Rasputin' was last seen praying with 'Mary's boy child, Jesus Christ!' and im sure it was Christmas day too! Also do you think that the mis-transcribing for Boney N, should actually have been transcribed as Bono, an Irish man cU2.00, Ag Lab, who had a huge 'desire' for growing 'Joshua trees!' it does make sense somehow! Speaking of Trees, I think I can now link all this info to the branch I have connected to the unknown family, who have incidently, deep rooted origins with the the country of unknown, that way any one wishing to view my tree will have a even better insight of the unknown! Cheers for the info Richard, I wont bother checking it out, as its to much like hard work! Tracy x ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Linda I found Con and Dec on the new english chart you refer to, however they were transcribed as Ant and Dec Duo, occupation- Batchelors soup chef's, birth place, Biker Grove. It is also rumoured that they had a short career in the vinyl industry too, however this was short lived as they caused a bit of a 'rumble'! They were actually spotted 'surfing usa' and river Badington that Richard mentioned! So they have obviously moved from their home Country of Ireland. This probobaly explains why you have struggled to locate them so far. Maybe 'Barbara Anne' their mother/sister/lover, who ever she was, can tell you more! Hope this helps Tracy x |

I think you are all barking up the wrong tree with this Lola person, surely it reads Pola Negra, a famous silent movie star? So she certainly wouldnt have been singing much. I believe she appeared at the Coliseum a lot. (But not with Lot, she was nothing to do with him)She danced a bit, though and seems to be a jolly good sort all round. So they say. Also, can anyone tell me the precise location of the Supermarket which supplied the 5000 loaves and fishes? How could I find out if the fish was fresh or frozen? I have heard that it was the same supermarket which was involved in a scandal over some dodgy bottled water that was actually wine, dumped from an EEC Wine Lake in Austria.(AKA the Red Sea) Would Trading Standards be the place to find out? I'm not sure if there was an M + S back in those days, might it have been Waitrose? Oh, a nice nurse has just brought me my medicine, would anyone else like some? Marjorie |

LOL (a) .. ... Hey Rebel's Cause, I already indicated that fact about Lola's gender, with a link to the fruit being discussed earlier to clarify it ..... Incidentally I infer that your Maiden name was Dean - correct? In the meantime, wibbling away at my roots ..... N U R S E !!!! |

Who are you calling a fruit? I think of myself more as a vegetable to be honest. Anyway, Lola married a Mr Er. They had one daughter called Gina Lola Bridget. I think she was an actress. Alan |

Marjorie, I think you need to check your dosage, dear. Gosh, a few mistranscriptions, a bit of bad writing, a stain on the paper and now look at the mess you've got yourselves into! Pola Negra - not an actress,it should read 'Pole dancer Lola - naked'. I'm afraid the Copacabana was rather sordid and went in for some rather tasteless publicity stunts. You are not the first to be confused, however, as this has been garbled into Polish Lola, supposedly from Cracow. She is despite the confusion with Lot, sometimes associated with Salome, another dancer, who wanted to marry John Baptist, but apparently there was some objection on his part to the wedding. And as for the likelihood of M & S and Waitrose being around in those days!. Really, it was very down market in that part of the world then and they would have had a choice between Netto or Honest Joe the Grocer's. nell |
