Not daft, I should have explained it better! BIVRI is British Isles Vital Records Index and contains 5 million births, christenings an marriages dating from 1538 to 1888. It is only partial though so as I said its a bit hit and miss. Not entirely sure myself which areas it covers so its just a case of 'try it and see'. Pam |

OH ok then, well then i'm looking for the birth of James Ford born about 1848 in hatfield, hertfordshire, and a marriage for a william charles read between 1854-1864 in surrey (maybe london?) married to an ellen ? they were both born about 1838 in surrey! Any help would be wonderful!! LMP :) |

Little Miss, Closest I could find on the birth was a James FORD christened 30/08/1840. Father Henry Ford and mother Eliza. Recorded in Rickmansworth, Hertford... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Unfortunatley a blanket search on Wm. Read and Ellen brought up nothing close. Pam |

Pam, Thanks for your kind offer. Can I ask for 2 lookups please? I hope you don't mind me being cheeky! I am looking for the birth of Phylis/Felicia Spittle. She was born in the Sedgley area of Staffordshire sometime between Sept 1868 and Jan 1870. I am also looking for the death of her sister, Madona Spittle. She appears on the 1871 census aged 8 months and then dissapears. Any help will be great. pat |

A bit far of the ford on, i do have his brother george ford who was born about 1860 in hatfield, hertfordshire. would it be possible to lookup a marriage for a lucy holley and a edward (i think its nicholls might be mis-spelt) in 1832 in hedsor buckingham! thanks very much! LMP:) |

LMP, again the only one close for George FORD was in Rickmansworth as follows: -------------------------------------------------------- FORD, George Christening Sex: Male Christening Date: 6 Sep 1857 Recorded in: Rickmansworth, Hertford, England Father: Daniel FORD Mother: Mary Source: FHL Number 1040657 Dates: 1832-1886 As for Lucy Holley, nothing for Lucy and Edward but there was a Lucy Hollley going much further back who married John MATON on 18/10/1721. THis was recorded in Fovant (?Forant), Wiltshire. Sorry not being much help. Pam |

Dear Carole, Nothing definate but I have found 3 possibles around the time. Firstly Bolton by Bowland is in Lancashire and not Yorkshire. Just type into google and you will get loads of sites telling you about the place. William HEATON christened 10/11/1811. Father John HEATON and mother Ann. Recorded in Bolton Le Sands, Lancashire. William HEATON born 26/10/1816, Christened 24/11/1816, father Richard HEATON and mother Betty. Recorded in Winwick, Lancashire. William HEATON born 30/05/1819, Christened 18/07/1819. Father Robert HEATON and mother Jane. Recorded at Winwick, Lancashire. Hope it helps. Pam |
