Steve That's strange.... any chance you could check again under Catherine Mutter? She might have been registered under her middle name and not her first name. My grandmother remembered that her Aunt Ada had married and that she lived in the Liverpool area - her Aunt Ada was down as having registered her birth in 1907 so it seems peculiar that you can't find her. If you can't find her again I'll have to try another way. Your help is appreciated. Deborah

Could you look up these people in the 1901 England census please? George Albert Hawkins Violet Freeman I do not know their ages in 1901, but they got married in 1906, so they must be at least 9. (1882 or earlier birth) Their relationship to the head of the household would be son and daughter. Thanks Tracey

Debora Are we talking about the same Ada who had her birth registered in 1907? I thought she was born in 1865? Am I right in thinking I'm looking for a marriage after 1891? If so, I've looked for all marriages involving a mutter from 1891 to 1911 and there are no Ada's nor Catherine's. The BMD Database isn't necessarily complete and furthermore mistranscriptions often occur too. So my failure to find it doesn't mean it isn't there. The only way to be sure is to trawl through 1837online records. Sorry Steve

Sharon 1837online has images right up to 1983, and since you have the date, it would be only one image to look at. Unfortunately, you have to buy a minimum of £5's worth (at 10p per image, I think). I think the register image shows her mother's maiden name by 1921. Hope this helps. Steve

Hi Steve, could you try to find John Guerin for me in the 1861 census. You found the rest of his family for me in Newcastle u Lyme army barracks but he wasn't there. He would have been about 14 (His father joined the army at that age so I suppose John may have also)
