Sue Report 4 Sep 2005 11:43

Hi - thanks for the offer. I'm desperately looking for a John MYERS with a daughter Frances and son James. I think that John might have been a mariner, and James was later a butcher. Frances married William HUMPAGE in the 1840s, and John's address at that time was Garden St, POPLAR. Thanks so much. Sue (in NZ)

Leeanne Report 4 Sep 2005 12:02

Hi Sue....comes up with quiet a few....do you have an approx age for the men? It would make it easier...I disregarded all really young and really old names..but need an age approximation. It is only a name index...the only place on there is where they are, age and name..

Sue

Sue Report 4 Sep 2005 12:12

Hi Leanne, Frances was Full Age when married in 1844, so I guess that makes John about 50ish by 1851? James was b abt 1840 I think, as his son, james William was born in 1860. Thanks so much. Sue (in NZ)

Hi Leeanne Is there enough credits left for a couple of small look ups for me? I am seeking Mary Ann HOMER/HORNER/HONNER. There is a bit of ambiguity over the surname due to the old fashioned writing on her marriage certificate. She was born around 1828 in Islington, and would have been living in London, probably in that area. Also, the man she married in the September of 1851 was Alfred WIL(L)SON, and he was born in 1828 also, but in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. He was a house painter by profession, but could have been Labouring at that stage. They could have been living together, or maybe he was lodging somewhere in London, and she with her family, or possibly working and lodging somewhere, I don't know. If she was with her family, it would have probably been her mother, as her father was dead by the September of 1851 at least. I think they would have both been living in the Islington (Balls Pond Road area) of London. She and her family are still a mystery in my tree, and it would be absolutely great if you could find her (and/or Alfred) on this census name index. Also, I have had someone look up the address where they were living on the marriage certificate on this census, but the number they were living at didn't exist! It was 5 Middleton Place, Balls Pond, and it is not on the census. So perhaps it was a new dwelling, anyway, we couldn't find them in that road. Thank you so much Lisa xx

Thanks, Leeanne-the Clerkenwell one may be right as he was living at Clerkenwell, Bethnal Green in 1861. Is there anybody else with him or is it not possible to see that-I`m used to Scotlandspeople so not sure what you can search for me. Thanks, Rosalyn

Hi Leeanne, thanks very much for giving me census number. Today I went to Genealogy Society of Victoria and I found 1851 image census. I am glad that the Waters family were right one. I did not know that William's mother was Hester (aged 54) and they had two more daughters. I have 1861 that the two daughters were missing. I will find out about them later. Where did you find that from? Thank you in advance. Cheers, Steven.
