David - re ANSELL The only Ansell I could find in Aston was - - Emma Ansell, 11, living with George Gidden, 65, Ag Lab Sarah Gidden, 66 All born in the county Karen

Spohia - re BRACE I'm sorry but I couldn't find any BRACE family in either Chipping/High Barnet or East Barnet. Karen

Jill - re SURREY I'm sorry but I couldn't find any Surrey's or similar in Abbots Langley which included Bedmont. Karen

David - the census I have is not indexed so I have search page by page so I need a parish to look at. When you get the birth certificate it might give you a clue as to which parish he may have been in in 1841 - Karen

Hi Karen I have just added a request on to the message boards and then saw your own regarding the 1841 census. Please would it be possible to ask if you might be able to find a William Ansell living with his parents I believe fronm Aston in Herts? Lynn - I'm sorry but the 1841 is not indexed so I have to look at each individual page, therefore I need a parish to narrow down the search - it would take me years to look at the whole of Hertfordshire! Jill - I will have a look for you, but the 1841 does not give place of birth, just whether they were born in the county or if they were born in foreign parts.

Teresa I've had a look at Hoddesdon which is split between Great Anwell & Broxburne so checked all of those. Nothing so far. I will check Cheshunt this is a huge parish so keep checking back as it may take a while as I'm away this weekend, but will hopefully get a chance to look before I go. Karen
