Didn't know you were gonna open a can of worms when you asked such an innocent question, did you? lol

I can't work out who Hannahs parents are. Do you have access to the 1851 index?

I think you have found another branch on the 41. Johns parents are Richard and Martha and his grandparents are Richard and Elizabeth. I do not know who francis is?

There's far too many Richards in this family lol Francis could be Richards brother? Though maybe not since one was born in Stafford and not the other.

Sorry Tracy, I lost my internet connection and could not get back on. Someone has been very helpful on the fam. search. There is an Hanna Leese noted for 1812 in Newcastle. No parents. What is the point in that? I can not find any possible widows for her. Yes there are to many Richards. on the 41 there are three in the same household. Richard Ashley/Lear grandfather is Richard Ashley. I can not find him either, but thats for another day

I HAVE GOT HER. born 17 may 1812 in Keele. Less than a mile from Madeley. I feel like I am going round in circles. I mentioned her parents before, its Richard and Martha. Now I know where to look for there marriage, which I could not find. She also has a sister Anne born 1814.

Tracy, You are not going to beleive this. There is marriage for Richard Lear 1810 Norton in the moors. He marries a Martha LEWES, YES, THATS RIGHT........ LEWES

☼ Orangeblossom ☼ - Tracy Report 29 Sep 2005 15:46

So let me see if I got this right... Richard and Elizabeth had Richard who married Martha and they had Richard who married Ann Ashley who had Richard Ashley Lear So they are all related after all :) lol - this thing just keeps going in circles! I guess it must've been a close community!

☼ Orangeblossom ☼ - Tracy Report 29 Sep 2005 15:54

Does your library have Norton in the Moors records? You should check that marriage out, since it's not direct from records. Wouldn't suprise me in the least though lol

Yes. I am in the process of trying to map it all out. By the way, an alternative spelling has sometimes been leya, something to do with the accent I think

Do you have access to Rootschat? Might be an idea to enlist the help of people with CDs.

Sorry Tracy, I was trying to map out. You found Martha on the 71 married to a Thomas Lewis. I just found the marriage in 68. Lewis marries a Lewis which is why there is no other surname on her second Marriage. Bmd has a death in 73 so she did not hang around for long. I am about to try and find out who he is. Yes I occaisionaly use Rootschat. Unlike here, I do not always get a reply.
