Hi Suzanne, Just got back, thankyou for your help, I will have to obtain his birth/marriage cert which I was hoping I wouldn't have to do, as I personally can't guarantee he is part of this family, but am told that he was a cousin of my mother and her siblings. Thankyou anyway Take care Jackie |

Thank you Suzanne, that certainly looks possible. The marriage I found for him in 1854 was to Elizabeth Dobson. Could you see if an Elizabeth Hodgson is in the vicinity - maybe staying with her parents??? Frances |

Hi Jacquline Without at least John's fathers name it is like looking for a needle in a haystack on censuses for him. You will really need to obtain his marriage cert which will give you his name, his fathers name, and both their occupations. Once you have that youll probably find him easily. Suzanne |

Hi Suzanne, Thankyou for the offer, hopefully you can help me. I have a Steptoe family I am looking for to tie up with my tree, this is what I have so far: John Steptoe married Marcella Nally in 1907 and they had two sons of which I am sure: Douglas born 1911 and Denis born 1914. Somewhere along the line a Steptoe married into my maternal side of the family, so what I am looking for: John Steptoe's parents and siblings and possibly his grandfather and siblings, because it is likely that one of the boys married into this family. Also, although I think it unlikely as it is after 1901 census, I am looking for a marriage for Denis and any children. I believe John's children were born in the London area and John married Marcella in St. Olave. I know they moved to Buckinghamshire which is where Denis would have married and had any children. I have tried on the various sites, but get a lot of conflicting information on this family. Thankyou for any help you may be able to give me. Take care Jackie |
