I would also like to know about the Coats Family too as my Great Great Grandads sister married Thomas Coats who was Christina's Brother. |

Hello Mhairi Can you look up a report on a fire in South Queensferry, in happened in April 1949 and apparently was quite bad, something to do with alcohol going up. My Grandfather thought it had been in the paper - but not sure if he meant just the local one. Any help much appreciated Kind regards Sue |

Clair The one with the heading lists both menagerie and vernon but not in the same bit. I'll keep having a look. Do you have any names that i could look for? That might make it easier. Thanks Mhairi |

Hey Jean Can i ask when James worked there? It would help with a search. Also do you know if James died before or after the guy who owned it? As sometimes wills are placed in the Scotsman and servants/workers mentioned sometimes. Let me know Mhairi |

Peter You would be better looking at their marriage cert on Scotlandpeople. It's £6 for 30 credits but you actually get to view the cert and print it out. The marriage cert will give you both sets of parents plus the maiden names of the mothers and lots more info. Nothing came up in the Scotsman Mhairi |
