Hi Penny, Isn't it awful I can't remember if it was a Monday, maybe it was, it was a weekday anyway. Maybe some of the great researchers on here can find out if it was a Monday 4th April 1966. Anyway one of the reason's why people married by 4th April was, the husband was able to claim back a whole years income tax he had paid the previous year. It was quite a bit of money then, in the good old days I mean. Betty |

Hi Betty Just to stop you worrying 4th April 1966 was a Monday :-). I remember now about the tax law as my parents got married 28th March (1964) Can't remember when that law was abolished though. Penny Thanks for your message |
