Sue - Thanks heaps for finding Helen Mowat and George Webster - they are my GGGG grandparents. And Janet their daughter with them is my GGG grandmother. With George Webster, merchant, I think he may be the uncle of my George above, as age and family naming patterns seem to fit. Lol, well, since it's a bit hijacked already- lots of my father's side is from Aberdeenshire Woody, do you have any Webster, Mowat, Swanson, Cran or Sim records? |

I've got the Canada thing as well! And it looks like they built the place when they got there. Lot's of Granite workers went out, I've got 2 letters from one couple who weren't doing too well in 1932, they went to Australia and can't find any more about them. His brother stayed and I found his dtr in law on Ancestry! Think I'll be in Abdn week of 19th June - poss the Wednesday - and that's when Lesley is up as well. be great to meet up, and two heads are often better than one! |

They're great aren't they Sue. What a lot of work they put in at the Fam History group, they've got several more just about ready to be printed as well including the Fraserburgh one. Apparently they'll look up others as well, in the books that they haven't finished yet. You've got the perfect excuse as you say! And you can tell your son it's just to do your history - not checking on him!!! From where the shop is you can see Frederick St, West North St and East North Street are just at crossroads, Gerrard St is along from Morrisons - these areas are where some of Keith's ancestors lived, others are in Footdee and Links St and broad St. Small world. Now I must - got info from Fraserburgh Yahoo group that expands on the freecen 1841, it's the meat on the bones! |

Not too sure if they would be buried there.. My main one is my GG granny Margaret Milne, she was born at Bog field,New pitsligo in 1876 i knw she died in 1973 and is buried in Methlick. Im still trying to match marraiges and deaths for her siblings. But as per usual with most scottish families they emigrated to Canada. What is it with the scots and canada??. Next time you are up this way we will have to meet up. sue x |

Dont apologize..its nice to hear somebody elses interest in the same areas as mine.. I didnt know that about St Nicholas House.Fancy learning that from a couple in Canada. The resourse up hear for tracing your family tree are brilliant.I have an excuse for going to Aberdeen more often now as my son has just moved into a flat at the back of Kings Street, were the FHS is.You proberly wont see me for days now LOL. I used to live in Forres about 10 years ago..but wasnt interested in my tree then. I come from Suffolk and find getting info on Suffolk and Norfolk Ancestors very hard.It is my mums side that come from this area. Its a shame that not more FHS dont have these books.Ive found the MIs very helpful and informative.
