Find Ancestors

to find my Great Grandfathers birth entry even though I know his name was spelt wrong?? I've been told that his daughter (my Nan) had to go back to the parish he was born in to obtain his birth certificate, after he died. As I live to far away from home to do this, I was hoping to find it on line under the wrong spelling...................will I?

hiya, you have james wiliams marriage cert? yes? gives fathers name as charles?, so the census with the family on is wrong and is wrong family, as is the birth ref, you mentioned that your gran had to fetch his birth cert when he died, does she still have it??? that will enable me/us to find his family on the 1901 census, (if you havent already got him that is) as it will give parents names and mothers maiden name, sorry if this seems abit longwinded, but i need correct details to be able to search correctly HTH Julie
