Hi would you please be kind enough to look for my grandmothers siblings if that is possable mothers name Catherine Kidd Simpson fathers name Robert Dewar they were married United Free Church Perth in 06 Jan 1904 so far I have only managed to find her brother John Simpson Dewar,I rememeber her talking about Effie, and Violet and I think there was more brothers, hope this is enough information for you. hello mhairi, i wonder if you could be of any help, my grandad Francis Cowan Brownlie dob feb 11 1923, he was born in shettleston,county of lanark. ( i have cert for this ) i think his siblings were john,gavin,william,alexander,james,margaret and janet. parents were john brownlie and margaret gates, married 3 april 1908 in old monkland, county of lanark, (i have a copy of cert ) i am looking for any info on the siblings , if that is them. my grandad did not speak much of his family, hence why i do not know a great deal, thankyou for the kind offer stacy

Well Mhairi, Its quite some time since I have seen you on the boards, where have you been?? I haven't seen you posting for a while, glad to see you here again. Hope you can help me with this family I have spent over £30 on Scotland People searching and still come up with nothing. There was a marriage in Dundee in St Andrews catholic church on the 28th August 1868 of John Ferguson (Millworker) aged 30 and Elizabeth Sullivan (Millworker) aged 24. (John's) parents were John Ferguson (Labourer) and Marsella Ferguson (nee what looks like Marsh or Walsh not sure though?? (Elizabeth) her parents were Patrick Sullivan (labourer) and Catherine Sullivan nee again not sure either Morris or Morvin something like that!! I am looking for the marriages of both sets of parents but as I am unsure of the mothers maiden names due to poor writing on Scotland People I can't find both marriages. Would be great if you could help in any way. Betty

Hi Mhairi Thanks for your wonderful offer. I hope you can help me as I have searched for 18 months for this death. I have checked Scotland's People and cannot locate his death, think it must be later than I am led to believe or mistranscribed. Looking for: James Millar Eckford born 1904. Son of John Eckford 1876 & Alice Greig 1885. The family are from Leith, EDINBURGH. They had four children and I have located James Millar Eckford 1904 birh. John Greig Eckford Death 06/02/1908 aged 18 months. Thomas Eckford Death 22/10/1911 aged 7 months. Alice died just after Thomas's death, days later. The forth child was George Eckford and he would be born C 1909, NOT LOCATED, although I knew him has he was brought up by my Grandparents alongside my Father, they were cousins. When Alice died James remained with the Eckfords and George went to the Greigs. I cannot trace George's date of Birth or James Millar Eckfords Death. An Eckford family member tells me James Never Married and died young? No trace on Scotland's People, I have found some James Millar Ecfords but NOT HIM? Jame was not a child when he died as I have a photo of him as a man. He worked in a chemical factory and I guess he would be 40s/50s? Mystery really. Any help would be great. Thanks Very Much Janice

I have the marriage 1903 in Dundee of Thomas Ferguson (Jute batcher) aged 22, his parents are John Ferguson Jute mill Mechanic (deceased) and Elizabeth Ferguson nee Solomon(deceased). To Mary Carney aged 23, her parents are John Carney (Hairdresser)and Mary Carney nee Kennedy. This couple who married are my grandparents but I can't get any further back on the Carney side because I can't find Mary's parents marriage or her birth. I also can't find any of them in any census. Now my grandmother was a very strict Roman Catholic, up every morning at 5am to go to church at 6am. The only marriage I can find for a John Cairney aged 19 (spelling different) and a Mary Kennedy aged 18 is in April 1887 in Glasgow which I have just found tonight/morning it was in the Church of Scotland and would be well after my grandmothers birth which was about 1880 give or take a year. Also her father was listed as a hairdresser when she married and this one is different. If you can help it would be Fantastic.. Betty

She died between 1962---64 age 62--64 At the time of her death she was staying at the Strathend Nursing Home, Strathend Road, Morningside, Edinburgh. As far as we know her death was a suicide. Im looking for possible children for a William James Campbell and a Mary Mason, they were married 16 Jul 1915 Dennistoun, Glasgow. Mary died 15 Mar 1919. William later married a Christina Dickson Janet Dick on the 27 Aug 1920 Dennistoun, Glasgow so there could be children from this marriage. Christina died 21 Jan 1923. If im not too cheeky Donald Campbell married an Esther Moffat 28 Oct 1903 Dennistoun, Glasgow. I have searched up to 1905 on SP but cant find anything, I was wondering if there was anything for 1906, 1907. Lastly Donald Campbell b 19 Jan 1919 Glasgow to Lily Campbell and Andrew T Campbell, I would like to know their address at the time and fathers occupation would be great. Thanks very much
