Hi Pen, Nice to see you back on here. I'd like to trace a family in Scotland please. They are driving me demented and I just can't seem to find them...well not without signing the deeds of my house over to ScotlandsPeople! They are John McDonald or MacDonald, who in 1863 was apparently a Distillers Clerk but by the time of his daughter's death cert in 1900 he was a Crofter. His wife was Margaret, maiden surname, Douglas. Their daughter Ann was born circa 1841 going by ages on later census, however, according to her death cert she'd have been born circa 1844. She also can't make up her mind if she was born in Dingwall or Nairn, depends on which census! Apparently they were living at some point at a place called Corshellach, which is a whisky, so that fits with the distillers part. Ann, I believe was in domestic service so may only have been with her parents in the 1851 census. I am expecting them to be in the North East of Scotland, Nairn, Ross & Cromarty, Banffshire, Morayshire but then they could be anywhere! I'm pretty sure that's all I know.
