THANK YOU REG Janice provided a date of birth 15/11/1833. Parents - James Morson and Agness Millar. Plus millions of other possibilities, loads of documents, advice on the merits of taking up alcohol consumption (Brandy v Gin) as a potential cure for the stress's and strains of researching your family tree. Hi Jeanette you posted a look-up request on my BIVRI thread. I think you will find your brick wall has come down as I have Janet Morson on my family tree. Her sister Margaret married the brother of my g g grandmother. I will be in touch with you. Anne

Jane I know, it's amazing, I can't stop smiling. A month ago all I or my father knew of his mother was that she died when he was three and he ended up in an orphanage. He's in his seventies now and was so excited when I said that I would try and find out something about her. We never dreamed it would go so far. Jan x

Thought I'd better add an update on where we are, Thank for all of the help by the way I still haven't found any record of a marriage between Janet Morson and James Birkett. Joined Scotlands people but no luck. Can't find John Birkett Jnr birth c. 1860, either. I realised that although I had found him in the 1861 English census I haven't seen him anywhere else, so I spent last night looking through all the records of Birkett deaths between 1861 and 1871, a couple of possibles but nothing certain. That's as far as I've gone so far. Once again THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HELP Jan :)

Hi Jan Check again Please. John is on 1871 census age 11 yrs? With his Mam & Dad. Janet & John. So the deaths will not be right. Love Janice x

Hey Jan Just to say i havent been to the records office yet so you never know, i might find something. Human error could have missed the birth and marriage from SP, then of course theres the possibility of a transcription error. Mhairi
