Hi Karen Thanks for the offer. I am trying to find the birth of a Janet Weir to Andrew Weir and Janet Fleming circa 1817 in Lesmahagow. The IGI has only one to Janet Porteous and Andrew Weir. Could you please see if you have anything and if not maybe two marriages for Janet , one as Janet Fleming to a Porteous and one as Janet Porteous to Andrew Weir. Jane was born circa 1780 in Lesmahagow. Hope this makes sense ! Thanks Robyn

hello karen thanks for the offer i've been on this one for ages robert carrick born approx 1872 in berwick upon tweed married lovenia greenslade dont know what year but she was born in woolwich approx 1872 . i've found them on the 1901 census in south shields and margaret their youngest was born in ireland approx 1897. I've managed to trace robert on the 1891 census at the army base camp in woolwich but i cannot find them on the 1881 census . or their marraige details can you help please thanks mags

Robyn McNie have found this marriage hope it can help Janet Porteous to Andrew Weir 19.08.1800 Lesmahogow. Lanark, Scotland they had loads of children including a Jane whom was christened 1815 Janet Porteous was christened 29.03.1780 and was born to James Porteous and Margaret Fleming so thats where your fleming name comes from , it was probably Janets middle name after her mothers maiden name regards karen

Hi Karen, What info I have states Elizabeth Inglis born 1820c illegitimate but her parents married after her birth. So she could have been born Dunn this was her mothers maiden name, before she married ? Inglis sorry I dont have his name. She then Elizabeth b1820 married William Reid 28th nov 1853 at St Nicholas. They then had Elizabeth Reid born 1853. Sorry Karen Elizabeth was born 1844. I keep forgetting this as her marriage states 1853 but that is wrong all other census's state 1844/3. I didnt think that she would have used Dunn when she married, As everything else states Inglis. That's why I didnt put the info in does this help or is this more confusing for you. I must have the worst family to find ever. They all seem to have had children then marry or they just keep dissappearing. LOL. Dont worry if this info is no good to you I'll just plod on without them. Many thanks Brenda.

hi karen if it is still ok would you be able to look up and see who the parents were of margaret johnston were i have her father as john johnston the only info i have about margaret is the date she was married as 22 july 1859 in old monkland lanarkshire to a john miller. also do you know of anyone who can help me find out what a person surname is as i cann;t read it? Hi Karen, Many thanks for your offer. On the children's birth certs. the parents are William Kerr and Mary Jane Currie and it states that they were married 9th or 19th September 1853 in Greenock but I can't find the record on Scotland's people. Can you help? On the various census returns they were born in Ireland abt. 1832 but several of their children were born in Greenock. Regards Olivia
