Aha! I've now found another (claiming to be complete) newspaper list of passengers for the Warwick' voyage leaving UK on either 10 or 11 Oct 1874, depending on which report you look at.
This report:
EMIGRANTS FOR AUCKLAND. Daily Southern Cross, Volume XXX, Issue 5412, 28 December 1874, Page 2
Passenger names are divided into groups: Families, Single Men, and Single Women. "Families" includes William and Susan. "Single women" includes Fanny, 19.
She isn't a child of William and Susan - DOB proves that, and also mmn.
Where families in the "Families" list include children, even adult "children", they are all listed together, but Fanny Claydon, 19, single woman, is listed separately.
I think it's just a coincidence of name.

AG- Do you see any substance in the FindaGrave entry against both William and Emma suggesting "(m. 1877)" Seems rather specific to the year, given that the other familial entries listed on Gravesite Details appear to be correct

I've now found Mark29438's tree on FamilySearch, as quoted previously by Alviegal.
I had thought that Fanny Louisa and Susan Mary, mentioned in Alviegal's post, were Holtoms - but according to Mark29438 they were Claydons.
He says Susan was born 1846 and died 1876, and Fanny born 1856, and that their parents were Joseph Claydon and Catherine Holloway. No proof of anything. No places of birth or death.
Dare I say - I think it's a load of rubbish.
Fanny and Susan are not on the "Warwick" passenger list.
There is a birth of a Susannah Claydon, mmn Holloway in 1846 - in Northampton - but no Claydon/Holloway births of William 1852 or Fanny 1856.
He says Susan Maria died in 1876 - he's clearly latched onto William's wife Susan's death. I don't see any other 1876 death of a Susan Claydon in NZ.
I don't see the marriage of a Joseph Claydon and Catherine Holloway.

Thanks, Alviegal. Interesting! Pity there's no proof!
HOLTON, FANNY mmn HOLLAWAY GRO Reference: 1871 J Quarter in WARWICK Volume 06D Page 512
Fanny (no middle name at birth, marriage, or death) married a William Tracey (possible relative of her sister Ellen's husband?) in 1896 in NZ and died in 1930. Buried in same cemetery as her husband, two children died in infancy, her mother Emma, another Fanny Tracey died 1929, and a Gladys Jean Cantell aged 5 (1921-26). I think Gladys Jean was grand-daughter of Fanny - parents Gladys Tracey (1902) and Robert James Cantell.
Other siblings (I haven't bothered to check for possible others with mis-spellings. This is now just to satisfy the research craving, as the Holtom/Holloway children were only step-family of William Claydon):
Emma Eliza 1865; Mary Ann 1868; John 1873 - all registered in Warwick reg district.
John 1873 is also buried in Waikumete Cemetery (1940) , though in different grave from Fanny, Emma, etc.
I don't see Fanny Louisa or Susan Maria (or John, for that matter) on the Warwick passenger list. As well as Wm and Susan Claydon, there are:
"Holtham: John 35, Emma 33". No children listed with them.

Nothing to do with William Claydon , whether mine or not - but for interest (yes, it's an addiction!):
Emma and John Holtom also had a son William in Lillington, Warks in 1863 (or maybe late 1862 - baptised 11 Jan 1863).
William (occupation : traveller) went to Massachusetts, USA, arriving there via London (previous residence Wellington, NZ) on 25 Aug 1895, and married Mary Butler of Coventry, England in Massachusetts on 31 Aug 1895.
In 1890 a William Holtom, a commercial traveller, was living in Auckland.

I've already been looking at that 1885 death, which seems to be the one below:
William Claydon in the New Zealand, Civil Registration Death Index, 1840-1972 Name William Claydon Age 33 Birth Date abt 1852 Death Date 1885 Death Place New Zealand Registration Number 1978

This is Emma's death:

N Spouse William Claydon Children Ellen Tracey Annie Wigg
Can't prove that's the right William, but seems a good possibility.
Can't see any marriage between William and Emma.
Emma Holloway in the Warwickshire, England, Church of England Marriages and Banns, 1754-1910 Name Emma Holloway Event Type Marriage Marriage or Bann Date 10 Dec 1861 Marriage or Bann Place Lillington, Warwickshire, England Parish Lillington Spouse John Holtom Father Joseph Holloway
John Holtom/Holton died in Auckland on 26 March 1875.
Daughter Ellen's birth:
HOLTON, ELLEN mmn HOLLOWAY GRO Reference: 1866 D Quarter in WARWICK Volume 06D Page 491
Ellen junior married John Tracey in NZ in 1888, had several children, and died in Auckland on 9 Oct 1946. (I won't post all the records.)
William and Ellen (senior)'s daughter Annie Claydon was born 1883 in NZ. Married Albert George Wigg in NZ in 1907. Died in Auckland 9 May 1952. A tree on Ancestry has a photo of her.
William and Ellen must have got together some time between John Holtom's death in 1875 and Annie's birth in 1883.
But without a marriage cert, I can't prove he's "my" William .
A tree on Ancestry claims he's this William:
Births Mar 1852 (>99%) Claydon William Solihull 6d 415
However, the tree's very muddled and full of mistakes. Even though it says he died in 1885 in NZ, it also has him marrying another wife in London in 1900, and living in Croydon in 1911, aged only 41.

Update: I've just discovered, on Papers Past website, that William and Susan went to New Zealand.
Arrival of the Warwick. Auckland Star, Volume VI, Issue 1543, 22 January 1875, Page 2
"The fine iron clippership Warwick " left London on 11 October 1874, and arrived in Auckland on 22 Jan 1875. Among the long list of names of passengers are: "Claydon: Wm 23, Susan 29."
No travel record on Ancestry.
I had known that trees on Ancestry claim that William's younger brothers Thomas (1853) and Richard (1855) went to NZ on the "Crusader" , arriving 31/12/1874 - without proof, and there's also no travel record on Ancestry - but I hadn't found anything for William until now.
Susan's death, sadly only about a year after arrival:
Susan Anne Maria Claydon in the New Zealand, Death Index, 1848-1966 Name Susan Anne Maria Claydon Death Date 1876 Oct-Nov-Dec Registration Place Bay of Islands, Auckland, New Zealand Folio Number 1156
I was looking for proof of Thomas and Richard's arrival in NZ when I found William and Susan by chance. There are reports of the arrival of the "Crusader" on 31/12 /1874, but no list of passengers, as far as I can see.
NZ newspapers have lots of items about the later lives of Thomas and Richard.
Richard's obituary, in 1932, says "Mr Claydon came out to New Zealand when 19 years of age by the sailing vessel Crusader."

Looks like another brick wall - ah, well!
He's in several Ancestry trees. None have any record of him after 1871 - apart from the ones which have confused him with the other William Claydon who died in Cuddesdon in 1920.
