The plot thickens!
It seems he led a double-life. There is no mention of Marjorie in his USA years. But maybe it is significant that he did not marry Margaret until after Marjorie had died?
It seems almost impossible that there are two different Hector's!
So I'll try and work back from Edmund and Rose :-)

As he didn't marry Margaret until after Marjorie's death, he wasn't living a double life.
But it appears that he and Marjorie had separated before 1920.
He first went to the US in 1919.
As you know, he became a naturalised US citizen in 1920, and in 1921 (posted earlier), Marjorie's with her parents in Sussex.
The naturalisation record says that Marjorie was "residing in England".
Hector/Harry made several trips between Bermuda (and Jamaica, and Buenos Aires, and Havana) and New York in 1920, 1921 and 1922 - when he was still a seaman - assistant steward.
Even if they hadn't already separated, Marjorie would have stayed in England during that time, and they would have been apart for a considerable time.

Thank you all. I will work back from Edmund, his father to see if I can find a familial connection. His DOB seems to span from 29/04/1892 to 1897.
He enlisted in 1910 - suspect he lied about his real DOB (1894) because he was not old enough to join!
