Herbert’s birth certificate may give you some clues. Herbert’s mother was either in the workhouse or was using the infirmary just for the birth. |

I ordered Herberts birth certificate, it states he was born at 20 Lower Hillmorton Road, Rugby, same address for Mother's residence, she was a launderess. |

In 1901, at Evelyn May's baptism, William James's occupation is "engineer's labourer", which fits with the 1911 census. |
