Lillie was manageress of the Crown Hotel Scarborough in 1901 & 1911. Age entered 35/45, place of birth Tollerton (in the parish of Alne) north of York.
BUT no Lillie there; only Elizabeth 1863 and William 1865.
Other possibles do not fit - get married, still with parents etc. Can anyone find her in the 1921 - I only have ancestry,

Was Lillie married or single. You can check for her birth/ marriage on the free site www.freebmd.org.uk
Lillie was quite likely to be a shortened version of something else.

Also, I forgot to say that you can have a look at the 1921 as a basic search - everyone has to pay for downloads. Even if you have a sub to FMP
Edit as she had been manageress there for some time it is worth looking out for her in the local papers.

marriage is a possible .. already got a note of it. It's her birth/baptism which are illusive.

Her birth may not have been registered. There were no penalties for not registering at that time.
This could be a possibility (Knaresborough is only about 15 miles from Tollerton):-

The address on the probate for Elizabeth/Lillie is 14 The Esplanade rather than 24 as posted above.
14 the Esplanade seems to be close to The Crown Hotel.

There is only one birth for a Jane Ann Wawne on Findmypast and that is in 1871 in Malton, North Yorkshire.
In 1911 she was working at another hotel in Scarborough (The Ramshill Hotel) so maybe that is how they met.

I think you are right about the 1863 baptism in Alne. On the image it says they lived in Tollerton.
