He married an Ann Scantlebury in Hythe Kent in 1812. Only two clues so far in that there was a son named William Scantlebury Brown christened 1813 in Ipswich Suffolk and a later christening with the name of Thomas added as a first name at Wivenhoe Essex[presume two family areas]. Can anybody give me any further details as to whether the son[or further children] lived to adulthood and continued the family line. Await with hope of a breakthrough! Regards. Michael. :-)

How did you work back to an 1812 marriage if you don’t know what happened to the issue?
have you looked, at least, for death info on freebmd?

In case it helps later, Abraham's occupation is recorded as tailor on the St Mary Wivenhoe baptism.

There may be other Scantlebury -Brown marriages, that of Dr Vera Scantlebury Brown OBE, nee Scantlebury, and her husband Edward Byram Brown in Australia, 1926, for instance. There was a son and daughter from that marriage.
They and their descendants, if any, may have remained in Australia, but might also have migrated elsewhere, and included Scantlebury as a forename.

To expand slightly on the 1832 marriage
Charlotte Petchell and Thomas William Skentlebery Brown were married by banns on 14th May 1832 at St James, Westminster by Thos Murray Browne, curate.
Witnesses were A. Brown and Catherine Ann Branning.
The groom signed the register, the bride made her mark. Both were recorded as otp.

Whilst waiting for Michael to feed back here as Erika suggested...
On TWSB's St Mary's Wivenhoe baptism, his father Abraham was a tailor.
I posted that one of the witnesses on the 1832 marriage at Westminster that Erika found was an A. Brown, I'm hoping it just might have been father Abraham (or mother Ann).
I found this couple in Westminster in 1841, even allowing for the ages of adults being rounded down to the nearest 5 years, they are a bit younger than your Abraham and Ann, but the image shows Abraham to be a tailor, and both Abraham and Ann not to have been born 'in county' ie not born London.

the children tie in with these baptisms below, but at present I can only find them on FMP, so no images. Ancestry has images but the search throws up a lot of clutter, even when you're being specific.
EDIT. There is a Charlotte Youlden in the census return above. Emma Maria Brown, daur of Abraham Brown, tailor, married Robert Youlden, mariner, at St Mary Woolnoth City of London on 24th Nov 1850
There seem to be quite a few births to a couple or couples called Abraham and Ann Brown in the Westminster area, may be more than one couple, as common names.
Double baptism at St Margaret's Westminster in 1823 , Emma is older than George.

Images on Ancestry show the children in the next baptisms below to be the children of a tailor, but Jones features as a forename, so is it a different couple, or a different wife, mmn Jones, or was Jones a name in either the Scartlebery or Brown family?
Maria may clash (one born Feb, one born Dec 1821) with the birth of Emma Maria in the baptisms above, indicating at least two Abraham Brown, tailor, and wife Ann breeding pairs in the area.

despite what the transcript says about born c1826,, the image says 'child about 3 years of age'. Entry is above that for Henry Edward Jones Brown. Address King St.
There was a couple called Abraham and Ann baptising children at St Clement Danes from a least 1811-1819, I assumed, perhaps wrongly, not the right Abraham as baptisms in 1811, and 1812, which straddle the 1812 marriage in Kent of your couple.
These might be complete red herrings as Abraham and Ann and Brown are all very common names, and 'tailor' not an uncommon occupation, but just in case anyone can do something with the info....

just to complicate the issue, found at least one of the Brown children baptised at St Clement Dane, Westminster between 1811 and 1819, was the chld of a tailor.

This family do give their children just single names though, so probably not your Abraham and Ann, even allowing for the two children born 1811 and 1812?
