I wonder if the following article in the Sunderland Daily Echo, 1 Sep 1934 has any relevance?
Horden Bridegroom
Miss Catherine Scott, third daughter of Mr John Scott and the late Mrs Scott, of 5 Victoria Street, Hartlepool, was married at The Lady Star of the Sea, Horden Colliery to Mr Laurence Yore, the son of Mr Peter Yore and the late Mrs Yore, of Fourth Street, Horden. The Rev Father Watson officiated, and the bride was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr Herbert B Mallinson, of Hartlepool. The bridesmaids were Miss Mary Dobson, of West Hartlepool and Miss Grace Mallinson (niece of the bride), MRS MARY AITKENHEAD (sister of the bride) was maid-of-houour. Mr John Yore (nephew of the groom) acted as best man.

Interesting, LondonBelle!
Marriages Sep 1934 (>99%) Scott Catherine Yore Easington 10a 1153 Yore Lawrence Scott Easington 10a 1153
Ancestry's strange transcription:
Lawrence Yorath in the England & Wales, Civil Registration Marriage Index, 1916-2005 Name: Lawrence Yorath Registration Date: Jul 1934[Aug 1934] [Sep 1934] Registration Quarter: Jul-Aug-Sep Registration District: Easington Inferred County: Durham Spouse: Scanes Volume Number: 10a Page Number: 1153
They've mixed up three lines on the Index - there's an Idiris Yorath, followed by a Catherine Yore who married a Scanes in Willesden, and then Lawrence Yore marrying Scott in Easington.
However, if searching for Catherine's marriage, they've transcribed that correctly:
Catherine Scott in the England & Wales, Civil Registration Marriage Index, 1916-2005 Name: Catherine Scott Registration Date: Jul 1934[Aug 1934] [Sep 1934] Registration Quarter: Jul-Aug-Sep Registration District: Easington Inferred County: Durham Spouse: Yore Volume Number: 10a Page Number: 1153
Can't see them in 1939, though.

Unfortunately, John Scott isn't at 5 Victoria Street in 1939.
Joseph T Watson and a closed record are at that address.

Regarding the suggested 1946 marriage - that woman should be on 1939 as Price(Aitkenhead), but if she is, I can’t find any trace

Grace Mallinson, the niece who was a bridesmaid, was a daughter of Cecilia Scott, sister of Catherine and Mary - so that's the right Scott family above..

Catherine and Laurence, mistranscribed, in 1939 - AND MARY AITKENHEAD:
Catherine Fone in the 1939 England and Wales Register Name: Catherine Fone Gender: Female Marital Status: Married Birth Date: 20 Jan 1907 Residence Date: 1939 Address: 20 North Road Residence Place: Ripon, Yorkshire (West Riding), England Occupation: Housewife Line Number: 40 Schedule Number: 80 Sub Schedule Number: 7 Enumeration District: Koga Borough: Ripon Registration district: 487/2 Inferred Spouse: Laurence Fone Household Members Age George Turner 35 Margaret Turner 28 This record is officially closed. This record is officially closed. Hazel Turner 1 Laurence Fone 38 Catherine Fone 32 May A??the?? 38 , widowed <<<<< Aitkenhead (Price) on image John Storrar 58 Martha M Storrar 63
Mary's DOB is given as 7 July 1901 - 10 years before the 1911 birth posted earlier, but month would fit. I suspect the year is a mistake.
She's a canteen counter assistant. No children or closed records with her.
The Turners are George Turner and Margaret Williams, married 1933 Easington. Hazel born Durham 1938. George & Margaret had 4 children before 1939, one of whom died in infancy (George 1936), so that accounts for the closed records.

A tree on Ancestry says her mother was a Bridget Scott, daughter of Patrick Scott and Bridget Weir.

FMP version of 1939 - they have totally ignored the woman's name at the time - sheer laziness on the part of the transcriber. I will submit the necessary correction

John Scott and Grace Ann Hall didn't marry until late 1902, so the daughters Cecilia and Margaret were illegitimate:
HALL, CECILIA - GRO Reference: 1898 M Quarter in HARTLEPOOL Volume 10A Page 174
HALL, MARGARET - GRO Reference: 1899 D Quarter in HARTLEPOOL Volume 10A Page 155
There's no illegitimate birth of a Mary Hall - so the 1901 date given in 1939 is wrong, and should be 1911.

George jnr and his wife had five children - see freebmd for details.
All births registered in W Hartlepool................but the family had moved by the time the children were marrying
The youngest married a man with a distinctive surname, and can easily be found on the ER to 2018
