It does all look to be the right family, apart from the blacksmith/farmer switch, however I'll keep looking for a reason why William might have swapped his occupation.

That family looks good, Alviegal.
Elizabeth's birthplace stated as Rusland in 1851 which you posted, 1871 posted by me, 1881 posted by Maddie, and in 1911 and 1921.
Hawkshead in 1891 and Colton in 1901 (both in Ulverston RD).
Rusland is just beside Colton (approx 3 miles). Hawkshead is about 6 miles from Rusland
