I am finding this 2 grt aunt 'Kathleen Louisa Deares' of Steyning who Died 1934 a difficult one to trace!
Cannot find a marriage anywhere! or her husband a 'Harry Deares' Henry or a Harold., or his Birth.
My Grt Aunt...for some reason had changed her name! & i have only recently worked that out......!
her Birth name was 'Louisa Catherine Buttress' B1872 Kent.
I have her D.C. and it said she died 27th Jan 1934 Steyning. 'widow' of what looks like 'Harry' Deares' a Furniture Dealer'
........An Inquest was held 29th Jan 1934.
Kathleen Deares was found at No2. Upper Shoreham Rd Kingston by Sea. (not her home address)
Any info found ,,,,much appreciated!

Louisa Dean in the 1911 England Census Name: Louisa Dean [Louisa Deares] <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Age in 1911: 39 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1872 Relation to Head: Wife Gender: Female Birth Place: Canterbury <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Civil Parish: Islington Country: England Street Address: 4 Manor Mansions, 455 Holloway Road N Marital status: Married Years Married: 6 Estimated Marriage Year: 1905 Occupation: Furniture Dealer <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Registration District Number: 10 Sub-registration District: Tufnell ED, institution, or vessel: 19 Piece: 794 Household Members: Name Age Alfred Dean 49 - London Louisa Dean 39
Married 6 years.
Alfred's handwriting is terrible. I think "Furniture dealer" is meant to be his occupation, not Louisa's. He wrote it on his line, then tried to change it, scored it out, and wrote it on Louisa's line instead.
I don't see their marriage. Maybe they weren't actually married.

An inquiry was held by the West Sussex Coroner at. Southlands Hospital, on Monday, into the death of Kathleen Louisa Deares (62);73a Goldstone Villas, Hove, widow of Harry Deares, a furniture dealer. Evidence showed that Mrs. Deares was admitted to the hospital on Jan 15 with a fractured hip and died on Jan 27. Her brother, George Henry Baydon, said he was told by his sister that, while she was getting out of bed, her hip came out of it's socket and went back again with a "click". The following morning she collapsed on returning home and a doctor was fetched. Dr Lynch said it was a spontaneous fracture, due to disease of the left hip, and was not necessarily due to accident. Death was due to failure of the heart, the condition of which was such that death might have occurred at any time. A verdict was returned in accordance with the medical evidence.

Can't see any birth of a George Henry Baydon, nor anyone of that name in 1921.
In 1921 there's a Henry George Buttress, 1867, born Deal, living in Dover. [BUT his parents were George Buttress and Ann Freeman Hall, married 1856 Eastry. Ann died 1912 Eastry]
Not sure what Louisa's mmn was:

Hills appeared for the oomplainant, and Mr. Sydney, solicitor, of Kensington, London 29 August 1885 - Thanet Advertiser - Ramsgate, Kent, England
alfred had a very large business in Old Street, London, traded under the name Dearce. He lived with a lady as man and wife for the last 12 years and her name was Miss Bertha Florence Brooks etc etc
So it looks like Harry/ Alfred's father changed the name at first.
