Isabella Dawson was born in the March q of 1890, her sister Annie in the September q of 1895 and their younger sister Florence in the March q or 1907. all Gateshead. They were the daughters of William Dawson born Sheriff Hill, Gateshead in 1860 and Mary Armstrong born 1867 to 1869 Gateshead or Spennymoor Durham.
I can find the three sisters on the 1911 census living at 55 Fullerton Place, Gateshead with their parents and siblings but nothing after this date. I am hoping someone on Genes R is also following this line and knows if these women married and if so to whom.
They had three other sisters Mary Jane, Elizabeth and Sarah who I believe I have traced and brothers William, Joseph, George and Robert.
Any help would be very much appreciated.n :-)

if you were to buy their birth certs to find out their exact DOBs, we might be able to find them in 1939, or their deaths.
Although their births were registered in 1890 and 1907, Isabella and Florence may have been born at the end of 1889 and 1906 respectively.

If you look at "Search all member trees" under "Search" at top right of this page, and search for them, you'll see that someone called Wendy has an Isabella 1890 Gateshead in her tree . Click on "Find out more" to send a message to Wendy and explain your interest
Wendy also has Annie 1895 in her tree - and also Florence 1907 (spelled Florance, as in 1911 ).
Although, it seems to me that as Wendy spells Florence "Florance" as in 1911, she probably hasn't found any more about the sisters than you have.
Someone called "jamjimfos" has the family in their tree on Ancestry - but doesn't have anything after 1911 for any of the three sisters. And also spells Florence as "Florance".

Hi. Firstly thank you for all your help :-)
I have already looked at the Annie who died aged 79 in 1974 and Dawson was her married name. Her maiden name was Aldred.
Yes I have messaged Wendy and unfortunately jamjimfos does not have any information I do not already have.

Hi Shirley. A few people on Ancestry have John J D Moore married to the same Isabella Dawson who is in my tree but I have a feeling that they simply copied from one tree to another as I can find no evidence that this is correct. The Isabella I am researching was born in Gateshead in the March q 1890 while the Isabella Dawson who married John Moore was born September 1890 in Lumley, Co Durham.
John Moore married Isabella Dawson in 1909 and in 1911 they are living in Cox Hoe, Durham whereas the Isabella Dawson I am researching is still living in Gateshead with her family and is listed as single.
Thank you for your reply :-)

The deaths of their mother Mary Dawson was registered by their oldest daughter Mary Jane Scope. I do not have the death certificate for William Dawson as yet.

There are two marriages in Gateshead in 1914 for Isabella Dawson - have you followed-through on them? Also, one in 1919

i followed through on those three marriages, and none of them include Kim's Isabella.
The three couples are all on the 1939 Register, and the wives' DOBs can't be hers, even allowing for typical 1939 discrepancies.

HI. I thought I had replied re the marriages but have no idea where the post went lol. Yes I had previously checked the records and could not find the Isabella I was checking. Can I just ask did you find a Jabes or Jabez Hall for the 1919 marriage? I could not find one in Gateshead so was also checking James in case it was a transcription error. I had filed this marriage away until i could confirm it one way or another. :-)

I have found her in the 1839 under Aldred but her date of birth is 18 June 1895. This Annie Aldred is later called Dawson though. I have a lot of ancestors who had inconsistencies on their date of birth over the years so will dig further.

Annie Aldred in the 1939 England and Wales Register Name: Annie Aldred [Annie Dawson] Gender: Female Marital Status: Widowed Birth Date: 18 Jun 1895 Residence Date: 1939 Address: 5 Residence Place: Gateshead, Durham, England Occupation: House Duties Line Number: 23 Schedule Number: 96 Sub Schedule Number: 1 Enumeration District: FBPA Borough: Gateshead Registration district: 557-2 Household Members Age Annie Aldred 44 This record is officially closed. This record is officially closed. This record is officially closed. Phylisis Appleby 74
Aldred is scored out, but no date beside it, so it looks as if the change was because she returned to her maiden name at some point after 1939. (IF this is the right woman )
Or perhaps it was a correction if she was already back to Dawson in 1939, and the fact that she married a Dawson in 1942 may be a coincidence.
1939 says she's widowed, but I suspect that's just for respectability. There's no sign of Arthurs death 1936-39 (unless he died in Newcastle in 1938, or Uxbridge in 1939, with his middle initial omitted.) - and there's a possible remarriage for him in Gateshead in 1944..

Remember that age stated at death are what the informant thinks is true - and not necessarily correct.
