The birth below would be a better ‘fit’ for a September birth - albeit one year different from the date given in 1939, which doesn’t seem to have been verified

no too all, as i said there are 2 Shuck lines for Cyril in Kidderminster & Stourbridge
Nellie b taken from 1939 reg, so i take it b 1915 reg 1916

Don't 'take' anything that hasn't been proved.

The 1916 registration - as I said before - is legally too late for a September 1915 birth

The 1939 birth date MAY NOT BE ACCURATE

As for Horace worked backward from m in 1952
there seems to be 2 lots of Shucks one in Kidderminster & one in Stourbridge both with different parents, i am only looking at the Stourbridge line, but both have a daughter named Nellie b 1915/16 having looked at Nellie she may have died in 1999

I assume you mean that there are births of two Cyril Shucks, one in Stourbridge and one in Kidderminster;

As your Cyril's birth was 1 Sept 1911, the Stourbridge one is the correct one, as you've already decided.


BUT
as ErikaH has said, dates of birth on the 1939 Register are not always accurate.

IF that DOB for Nellie is accurate, than the birth of Nellie North with mmn Bayliss is indeed the more likely one.

Ancestry suggests the other birth (mmn Shaw) - but Ancestry's suggestions are also frequently wrong.

You do need to get Nellie and Cyril's marriage cert to see who her father was.
