Find Ancestors

Hi. Found both in 1881 Census as children of John and Margaret J. Liddle living at Wear Tce. Escomb, Durham. I can't seem to trace them after that. Any help would be appreciated.

The only way to be certain is to invest in a copy of the 1894 marriage cert

Thank you to all you researchers. I was beginning to think she may have died, as she doesn't seem to appear anywhere after the 1901 Census in Esh with her Father John, now a Widower.

You said you couldn’t see Ellen after 1881…………..and the 1901 isn’t Ellen, it’s MARGARET J

Also, Ellen was born C1875…NOT 1885

Etherley Lane, birthplace of Ellen Ovington in 1901 census is less than 2 miles away from Escomb, birthplace (per 1881 census) of Ellen Liddle, daughter of John & Margaret J. - nee Naisbitt.

Of course you need the Ovington marriage cert to be sure, but on balance, geographically, it seems likely that Ellen Ovington is the Escomb child - daughter of John & Margaret, with the siblings your opening post was about.
