Looking for anything on two sisters Mary a nee budd married John h Mayes and Ruth budd married Charles Fullerton in 1911 both Hartlepool did they have children thank you

I have tried on free bmd but couldn’t see anything but thank you for letting me know of her death

Where did you find the marriage for Mary? I can’t see one

John Henry Mayes married a Mary Ann Picknell in 1895

No other marriage in Hartlepool for his name

Picknell was her mother’s maiden name but Joseph budd was her father her parents married in Hartlepool st James church

Ruths’ son is on 1939 - unmarried. Find his birth on freebmd - there’s only one

You need to use the GRO site to look for Mayes births. They married in 1895 - freebmd doesn’t show MMN on births until late 1911

In 1901, they had Elsie John and Ernest
By 1911, they had added Doris, Frank, Winifred and Miriam, and Ernest had died.

As a matter of info, the MMN was PICKNELL,the name she used when she married, so Mary’s father was NOT Budd. Find her birth yourself under the name PICKNELL

Have you found a baptism for Mary Ann?

Maybe her father will be named there..?

I searched for someone in my extended family, shown with the family surname and living with them as their daughter in 1891 census.
Her age suggested that she was born before their marriage, but I couldn't find her birth ( b. 1882 ) in her father's surname or that of his wife before marriage.

It turned out that she was the child of another mother entirely and was registered under HER surname, as her parents weren't married. Sadly, the child's mother died soon after the birth.
No man was shown in the father column, but luckily for me, Edward ( shown as her father in 1891 census) registered the birth and gave his status as father.

Although the child was brought up as Edward's daughter, when she married it was in her birth name.... and strangely no name shown for her father, although his sister was one of the witnesses.

Sometimes you have to explore all clues to get the information you need.
