Thank you Greyghost., Glen is my wife's father and we have his mother's name Eileen Margaret Adelaide Moss-Hayes b. 23/11/1904 Calcutta India. We also have no information on her side of the tree.

The information I have comes from my wife's father Glen Oswald Percival Walker (verbally). He is still alive and aged 91 years.

He believes with Rupert Charles, there may be some connection with Postal and Telegraph. Unsure whether that is England or India.

He thinks his Grandmother separated from Rupert and lived in Ireland.
He tells us his family history was never mentioned and he spent his youth in an Indian boarding school, so had little contact with his grandparents.

Glen's brother Wilfred Frank Walker b. 17/05/1938, St Mathias, Madras, India, died in Scotland, we believe in 2011.

Perhaps Rupert was born and died in India.

I have her married to Harold Collett in 1914.
Fascinating that her father is noted as Reuben George. -That opens another pathway to search.

Aged 22 in 1914, so, unless she fibbed, she wasn't born as early as 1890.

Have you any certificates for any of your wife's antecedents

These come up on familysearch and rather than helping , they do the opposite
