Am looking for any information on this family for an elderly friend. Her parents were Sydney FULLALOVE and Alice Hurst. As a child she - Brenda - was taken by her dad to view the war memorial in Oldham and he said he had 4 brothers/relatives on there. He had joined the ?Territorials himself but was transferred to the newly formed RAF as he was in training to be an engineer. Brenda says he always felt he had cheated death, in that his brothers were killed? I have found Harold, a brother killed in Mesopotamia, and Joseph, killed at Basra. But the one I am trying to find more info on is Frank Fullalove. He was born in 1902 but possibly dies in 1920 in Oldham.I have found some scant war records for a Frank Fullalove, but don't know if it is the same one? on the 1911 census the family were living at Wrigley St Oldham. Frank and Sydney's etc father was Joseph Fullalove who was married to Eliza Wardleworth and they had 15 children in total although typically for the times, many died in infancy/childhood. I have tried to search on line for the inscriptions on the Oldham War memorial but can't find any , so wondered if anyone on here had access to these? And are there any remaining Fullaloves connected to this family out there? Brenda is now 87 and lives near Rivington, Horwich Lancs |
