They seem to have gone to New Zealand - or at least Barrie did. |

Hi. Yes think barrie left moira behind and went back to new Zealand, maybe 1959?.not certain when he travelled back. He does last year. Not sure what happened to moira as she seemed to stay in Burnley. I have sent for the certificate of marriage so I can confirm moiras age. I did wonder if she was born in New Zealand perhaps? I've not found a birth of a moira Collins thst will fit so I'm hoping the marriage certificate helps. Thanks for the info on barrie. And his parents. |

No birth in Scotland for a Moira Collins who could have married in 1958, other than one with additional forenames |

The daughter (IF the marriage I found is the 'right' Ann) is in the BT Phone Book |

Just discovered she was born Ireland. Waterford . Mothers maiden name maybe whelan or mccrane. Connections also to Dublin. Now being told she went to New Zealand with barrie. I'll check back on that.but must not have stayed there if she did as was back in Burnley mid sixties apparently. Think born 1934ish but I'll know that once certificate comes. |

Is there a way of checking births in Waterford Ireland at all. I have heard its very difficult to find Irish ancestors. |

I don't see her death or remarriage in England/Wales from 1960 onwards, as either Collins or Hargreaves. |

Hi. Need to add that Ann that marries in 1983 is not the Ann born in 1959. Ann got adopted and her name was changed. |

ErikaH | Report | 1 Sep 2020 19:49 |
It would have saved time if you’d mentioned that you knew about the adoption at the start |

Regardless of what may have happened to her mother, it sounds like a very unhappy situation if the daughter was adopted when she had a father living in NZ. |
