'Stuck' in what way, please?
Have you looked for info yourself, and if so, where?
Put the followiing in your favourites and make use of them - they're invaluable

Why not look for possible marriages yourself using freebmd initially.
Check following census for the right couples and / or the gro site for births inputting surname and mmn to determine the couples
Also check the lancsopc and / or lancsbmd which should show the "couples"
The gro site will also give you an age at death to help determine if it's the right person.
Somewhere along the line you might have to buy a certificate or two.
Lancsbmd will give you deaths and lancsopc burials

Thanks for the additional info. Yes, you're right, with father a mechanic, that's likely to be the correct family.
I don't see any marriage of John Barber and an Ann Harvey - but so far back not every record survives.
Well, there's this one - but if the transcription's correct, it says John's American, and it's in Liverpool:
John Barber England Marriages, 1538–1973 Name: John Barber Name Note: Gun Maker Event Type: Marriage Event Date: 14 Nov 1825 Event Place: Liverpool, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom Event Place (Original): Liverpool, Lancashire, England Gender: Male Marital Status: Unknown Ethnicity: American Race: W Spouse's Name: Ann Harvey Spouse's Gender: Female Spouse's Marital Status: Single Spouse's Race: W Spouse's Race (Original): W
ADDED: Actually, the image (on page 179 of the link from FS) doesn't say anything about ethnicity, so I think that's a transcription mistake.
The bride and groom each made their mark. The witnesses are Elizabeth Harvey (her mark) and William Broomhead.

Re the 1841 census - which may or may not be the correct one - this looks like Charles's marriage:
Charles Barber in the Manchester, England, Church of England Marriages and Banns, 1754-1930 Name: Charles Barber Gender: Male Marriage Age: 24 Event Type: Marriage Birth Year: abt 1839 Marriage Date: 19 Sep 1863 Marriage Place: Manchester, St Peter, Lancashire, England Parish as it Appears: Manchester Father: John Barber, mechanic <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Spouse: Elizabeth Walker Reference Number: GB127.M403/4/3
One of the witnesses is Thomas Barber, presumably his brother.

If John and Ann in 1841 are the couple who married in 1821 as you suggest - they are clearly still together in 1841 (assuming that's the same couple).
Therefore, IF the family in 1841 is your family, then the William who was baptised in 1835 with parents John and Mary can't be your William.
How have you worked back to William, please? If you haven't found him in 1851, what is the furthest back record you have of him definitely with provable relatives? (That's not a typo for "probable" - I do mean "provable" !)
What makes you think that the William baptised in 1835 is your William? There don't seem to be baptism records for any of the other 1841 children.
Who did William marry, please? I assume that's where you found the name John for his father. What was his father's ooccupation - engineer/mechanic/similar?
Ancestry does suggest that that 1841 census is the right one for Elizabeth Barber who married John Bowman - but Ancestry's not necessarily correct, and you would need her marriage cert to be sure she's the same Elizabeth, unless you have other proof.
ADDED: If this is the birth of Charles who appears in the 1841 census, then Ann in 1841 isn't Ann Bateman, who was a spinster at marriage :
BARBER, CHARLES mms HARVEY GRO Reference: 1840 J Quarter in MANCHESTER Volume 20 Page 626
That's the only Charles Barber born in Manchester or Salford 1837-1841.
His parents had an earlier child, in 1839, also named Charles, who died in infancy.

so, this is the family you say are yours in 1841? Ages over 15 were meant to be rounded down to the nearest 5 on the 1841 census, so John could be anywhere between 40 and 44
