Find Ancestors

hi all. im after some assistance. i dont seem to be very good at this family tree business. i get so far then im stuck.

i know the details birth, date and marriages.

but have no close relatives left to help me.

my great grandmother was called Dorothy rose whittington she was born in petersfield Hampshire. 24th September 1914 (however some found documents (her residence) say 1913)
she died 20th april 1999.
her mothers maiden name was cornwall ( i have found a family or ancestry from midhurst Hampshire.
i was brought up believing my great Nan had a a brother Reginald frank and a sister called daisy may.
i have found information regarding Reginald frank and daisy may parents, but i cant find no connection regarding my nan.

all bar Daisy may lived in hawkley (to doors apart) and are all buried at st paul, st peters cemetery in hawkley
my Nan marriage took place in June 1933 to a david scott. (her maiden name is spelt wittington)

David Scott was born 7th september 1907 and died 15th september 1971. (this is all the info i have on my great grandad.

Can’t hope to find David unless you can tell us where he was born. More than one birth for the name registered in last two quarters of 1907

She must be the child of your great grandparents.

What was her name? Was it Margaret?

Re-reading your post you say your nan was the one who married David Scott, but you say that Dorothy was your great grandmother. Sorry, but she can’t be both

The best way for you to deal with this is to put the names etc on your tree on here, as it gives you a 'picture' of the family group
