Re Harold -
As no relationships are given in 1939 Register, it's also just possible that he was Annie's sister Edith's child:
EDIT: NO HE'S NOT! See Erika's post below. Definitely Annie's son.

The RAF was founded on 1 April 1918 by merging the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service.
If a member of the army transferred to the RFC (or later, the RAF), then their army service record went along with them to their new service (sim for the RN to the RNAS/RAF), and their entire service record is in with the RAF records. If they continued in service long after WW1, then their records are treated like modern records, and need a special individual request for access.
Ancestry has what remains of the Army WW1 service records[*], as well as the Army pension records and medal card rolls.
I don't know who holds what records - try Ancestry's Card Catalog https://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/collections/catalog/?limitToCountry=0
or FMP's A-Z of recod sets https://search.findmypast.co.uk/historical-records
[*] Canadian and ANZAC records are complete and held by them, but their transfers yo RAF are held by RAF, which is not negligible - over 25% of WW1 RAF were Canadians.
