Looking for any ancestors of Thomas James Pennel born 25/08/1913. I think his mother’s maiden name was Parsons.(not really sure) think he was born in Medway. He died in !986 in Watford. I would be so grateful for any help as no family left to ask anything. Thank you.

Looking for information about Thomas James Pennell. He was born on 25/08/1913 he died the last quarter of the year in 1986. I think he joined the Kingsown Scottish Borderers, service no. 3.193.783. Think he enrolled with them to get a service number. Which I think was known as the desert rats. Any information I would be very grateful. I have 2 photos of him in uniform but not sure if I can add them. Thank you for any help.

Thank you so much for your reply, my friend was brought up by her Mum and stepdad (as she thought) but after his death she found out by her half sister that he was her real Dad. So she doesn’t know a lot about his other ancestors. Thomas had an older sister Ivy who had a daughter named Georgina. My friends Mum died and never told her. Thank you for any help. Earlier post by Kathleen suggested Alfred W Pennell / Edith Parsons married in 1911 Brighton. But Alfred married Agnes so another marriage somewhere.

I don’t know if anyone can help about Thomas J. 1945 Identity card. It states
DFS 3193753. Pennell. It is stamped 1945 National Registration Office. His Grandson was told it was his service number and has now been told it is not. He is totally confused. Would anyone be able to help with what the number might mean?
