Tong is where the son John was born, per 1851 census.

There's a John Corns, 15, probably with the family in 1841, although the image suggests he's another household on his own, which seems unlikely.

So that would be the same for my mother's father as that is what started me on this search trying to find her real father and that of her brother both children of Joyce Banks who later married Fred Wood.

I know Julia's baptism was later than that, but presumably her father would still be named even if deceased.

That 1849 record is the death of a 75-year-old:

To order a copy of the birth cert, you must use the info exactly as per the GRO index, otherwise they will not supply it.

Having said that, was her birth actually registered? And you've got the names of her parents from the baptism.

If Eliza was illegitimate, you have no way of finding out who fathered her
