Option 1. Marriage to Mary Ann Holmes would mean Thomas' Father was George.
Option 2. Take the baptism record for Thomas Spencer of 1825, Father would also be Thomas Spencer with Mother Elizabeth and no marriage record for the parents that I can find.
Thanks
What I have (going backwards is)
Vera Haycock born 1915 (Looking at Spencer Ancestors)
---------
Harriet Spencer (Great Grandma) born 1875 marries John Haycock (Great Grandad) - Coventry.
-----
Parents Thomas Spencer born 1852 Marries Elizabeth Ann Cakebread (Hannah) Coventry.
-------
Parent - Thomas Spencer born 1803 Coventry marries???? Elizabeth or as above. Looking to back these up please with records. If we have any further sets of parents going back, this would be great thanks!
Everything so far is birth and marriage =Coventry.
If you disagree with any of these going backwards please let me know and let me know the source you rely on. This is not to be awkward, it's just to try and get something as definitive as possible.
Thanks Ever So Much :-)

Hang on - thanks for this but what often happens is people post a lot of census information rather than actually entering into correspondence on the question. It's not my fault if the same pile of census information lands....
I'm still none the wiser on the original question? Two Thomas' which one?
Thanks though.

Thomas, you have so many threads about Spencer family that it is no wonder you are confused. Everyone else justs gets confused too which is why Genes has the rule that you should only post one thread about each family.
You really need to stick to one thread and as far as I can see going backwards from your grandparents then the Thomas Spencer who marries Mary Ann Holmes is the correct family and this parish marriage record confirms that his father is George, so the 1825 baptism can't be him. Much more likely that the date of birth on the census is out by a year and the baptism of Thomas in 1824 with father George and mother Ann is the right one.
Only you can decide if this is right and the more times you ask the more opinions you will get.

Thanks for this. I should really say - "Strictly no census pastes" - I can appreciate that people are trying to be helpful but if someone has access to Ancestry, they will have access to census records anyway.
The Spencer family is incredibly large and i've been researching them for a considerable amount of time. I've always tried to garner consensus. Without posts about different branches and generations, it's very difficult for people to be able to get the information that they need, furthermore, when new information comes to light and brings old information into dispute, it makes sense not to comment on an age old post that will not garner replies - on forums across the board, old posts do not attract new responses and it's general ettiquete to open a new post on a new subject hence my approach.
Thanks everyone.
