HELP Trying to trace my father in laws family

My father in law knows nothing about his grand parents on wards and I have been trying to help him but have hit a brick wall, if anyone can help me that would be great.

The info for his parents is as follows

Father / Stephen Edward Martin 1/11/1913 - Dec 1992 - died age 79
Mother / Lily Cooper 5/3/1919 - Feb 1996 - died age 76
Married in 1937
All from the Southampton, Hampshire, UK area
