Thank you We have traced the family back to James and Susan Smith and there it stops ( Smith being such a common name. I have bought the marriage certificate of James and Susan Matthews which I think is the right one but can't confirm it. My thinking was that I know I used to visit the Matthews of Wardle were Susan Matthews
was originally from so if I can link them with her then I could be 99% sure.I am new at this and don't really know what I am doing. Some of your answers do look promising.

I did answer back it was on the second page. This is what I wrote:

I think the family on Halifax Road is related to Susan Matthews on the marriage certificate with James Smith and the ones I was looking for, how they ended up on Birch Road I don't know and how I will confirm this I don't know. Thank you all for your help.
