Hi - I apologise if this is easily solvable!

Margrethe Caroline Clausen was born 28 Jan 1901 - she married George Johns in 1920 in Plymouth and had four children in Toxteth/Liverpool between 1921 and 1930;

Olga, Patricia, Rita, Eric and John.

I have no idea when she died.

Do you know where her husband died?

I looked at the image of the 1939 Register on FMP ...............

It IS Clausen on the image, though a bit hard to read


The name change from Margaret Johns to Margrethe Clausen was made 22-4-56

Other letters/numbers entered at that date were CR283 MX47

In the extreme right hand column is written, I think! .......... See Car Ch

I have no idea what that means.

The implication there is that she went back to her own name, perhaps after a divorce????

Sylvia I was just looking at that, but can't see a marriage or death for either name

It's not the marriage I posted ( 1949) , have removed as may still be living

She's on the electoral register in Liverpool with George E Johns until at least 1950.

After that she turns up in Edmonton in 1953 under Margrethe Johns.

From1957 she's still at the same address in Edmonton listed as Margrethe Clausen. This is her with daughter Olga:

Her death must have been picked up for the 1939 record to be open for her
