There's a Brian D born in 1939. Could that be Donald?

Just to let you all know that the Biggleswade death was the right one. Thank you for your help.

I also ordered a both certificate for her sister born in 1967 Hatfield that was adopted from birth. The death record had no Christian name on it - only Ellis. The GRO have refunded me because there was insufficient information.
Is there a way around this ?

You mean the birth record had no Christian name.

What page number did you give them? The original 127, or the amendment 1975/S ?

EDIT:

1975/S is according to a FreeBMD transcriber. Ancestry's transcriber says 1979/S.
I can't tell which is correct - the image isn't clear.

My guess would be either 1978 or 1979 - not helpful, I know!

However -
As 1967 is more than 50 years ago, the GRO website's advice should apply -
say that you don't know the reference number, and enter 01/01/1967 as the DOB.
They'll search 1966-68

What did you enter as Forename - "Female" ?

Make sure you enter mother's surname, perhaps both as maiden surname and as surname at time of the birth.

Do you know I can't remember if I put 127 or 1975/s I stupidly put a question mark in the forename instead of 'female

I checked the genes reunited entry and bmd but had got the original info from Ancestry. Should have known really to check that.

I'll gather all the info again and call the gro.

Thanks I will check that Brian D and also I've asked again about when Dondld visited the family for Sunday lunch ! It was mid to late 1970s.

Thank you all so much for your help again.

Happy New year to you all xx
