How did you work back to her please? Did she marry? If so, her marriage certificate will name her father if known. |

yes she was married in 1957 in Cheshire. According to passed on family info she came from Ireland as a teenager after her parents deaths, and joined the land army. Don't know exact year but have to guess about 1940 ish |

all info posted is the right person, as you see from the marriage she was Eliza , only her husband called her Elizabeth. She was always known as Lil by everyone else. Now do I buy the birth posted by Rootgatherer as its the right area. or the Marriage cert |

You should start with what you know is DEFINITE, in this case the marriage in 1957. This should give you the name and occupation of Eliza's father. |

I agree with Kucinta. Start with the marriage certificate. If you don't know the name of either parent it seems a little odd. If Eliza's parents had died before she came to England, it would seem a bit odd that she never mentioned them by name. |

She never mentioned her parents only to say they both died when she was very young and she was cared for by a neighbour. also there was no mention of any brothers or sisters which I find a bit odd as they were r.c |

The only Irish census online are the 1901 and 1911 so they are too early for her |

The only Irish census to survive intact are the 1901 and 1911. Just google Irish census, they are free to access. |
