I think Christina probably has the correct baptism for John as one of the two she posted.

If William and Richard are brothers, and can be found to be so, at least you'd have the correct paternal grandparents...

EDIT: I NOW THINK WILLIAM AND ELIZABETH are the right parents

( see further down the thread where John son of Richard and Elizabeth is living with his mum and dad in 1841, whereas Sophia's dad John had already married Sarah in 1831 and left home...)

Not sure what to make of it

Elizabeth father was a Joseph Paxton born 1791 and her Mother was Ann Hickman born 1790

Joseph father was a Richard Paxton born 1768 Finmere his wife was a Elizabeth Butler born in 1770. They had Joseph born 1791 and another son called John born in 1810 also a Thomas born in1809

Richard's father was a William Paxton born 1715 and mother was a Elizabeth Yates

Daniel second wife Sophia born on 8-5-1836 father was a John Paxton her mother Sarah Makepeace Do you think Joseph and John were brothers birth dates match
if so would that have made Elizabeth and Sophia related this may explain how come Sophia worked for Daniel and Elizabeth

Not finding a Joseph Paxton born 1791.

Richard and Elizabeth had a Joseph in 1797 as I posted earlier, did you mean him?

Sophia's father John Paxton was likely the 1810 born son of William and Elizabeth, as Richard and Elizabeth's son John born 1810 married Mary Tomkins in 1830 and had children with her; the family were still living with Richard and Elizabeth in census 1841 as previously posted.

Sophia was living with her father John and mother Sarah in that same census (1841).

So Sophia's father John was NOT the brother of Joseph.

I imagine there's stilll a good chance they were related in some way as the Paxtons seemed to live in the Mixbury/Finmere region since at least the 1600s, so probably cousins of some sort.

I can't find a direct connection between William Paxton, Sophia's grandfather, and Richard Paxton, who fathered Joseph Paxton 1897, unless they were both the offspring of a William Paxton who was married to a Hester in 1768, and an Anne in 1770, which doesn't look like being the case.

Thanks everyone, think I now have it sorted out many thanks to you all for all your help I think you are right there where sure a lot of Paxton's in Finmere

Must admit doing this family tree is addictive but you know it's hard to take in when you see just how many people there are in the tree and everyone of them made me who I am today, wonder if others feel the same way doing theirs
my 3rd Grandfather Daniel Windsor who started all this I feel I have got to know him and have a lot of affection for him strange how one person can have that effect
