Could this be Bridget leaving Southampton for South Africa with 3 daughters (perhaps the youngest daughter died)? :- |

If she married Jesse bush as Crackett then she couldn't have married a cosgrove |

Thanks a million Kath. I have seen this info before but never persued it because the ship left Southhampton in 1912, however, Bridget and her husband, Thomas, were in South Africa in 1909 attending Sarah Jane's Baptism. I have the Baptism document. |

On the image of his marriage to another wife in 1936, Jesse is described as a BACHELOR, a gauger, born Ireland. So maybe he was never married to Bridget Veronica? |

So it would appear then that the children may have aslso been born in South Africa ?? |

If the passenger list that Kathleen posted is correct, which i believe it is, the only infant Miss T Crackett I cound find is this one, who adds yet another MMN to the mix. |

I also believe the info is correct but as I said to Kathleen my only problem is if she was in SA for her daughters baptism in 1909 & 1910 then she was already in SA when the ship left Southhampton. My mother said she was from the Free State in SA. |

There's nothing to stop Bridget having travelled to England between 1910 and 1912, and maybe waiting a couple of months after the birth of the third child Miss T Crackett an Infant, before travelling back. |

Could she have been in England visiting relatives (or some other reason) and then gone back in 1912? |

There were almost seventeen months between Nellie's baptism and the 1912 voyage. |

Check out the image of this one on Ancestry Incoming passengers if you can. Although it says T, it also says wife against it. |

There's no Crackett/ Campbell marriage in England/Wales 1870-1912 - if that fact supports the possibility that Thomasina is Miss T. |

On the passenger list, under the heading "country of last permanent residence" there is a tick under "British Possessions". South Africa would be one of these, so she was probably only in England temporarily. |

I'd be tempted to get the birth cert for Thomasina, especially as she has a different mother's maiden name (Campbell) to the one you believe (Jackson) or do you have evidence in the way of the marriage registration to Thomas Crackett? |
