Welcome to the boards Christine.
What more do you know?
What was your Father's birth name and where and when was he born? If you have his birth certificate it should give Amelia's full name, maiden name and any surname she was formerly known as. Also occupation of Richard James.
Did he have siblings do you know?
Do you know Amelia's surname?
I'm not seeing a marriage between a Richard Burrows and an Amelia anywhere in England/Wales from 1880 - 1920 nor in Scotland.
There are 5 marriages for Richard James Burrows, but not to an Amelia in that same period and not in the area you say they were in 1916.

I think the Bradford couple are not the poster's family. Amelia would have been a bit old to be having a child in 1914/15.
Their son couldn't be the father either as they have declared him deceased on the 1911 census.

Hi everybody, My father was born on the 27th January 1914 at 15 Prince regent street,Stockton-on Tees. His mothers Maiden name was Brown and his father was a labourer. I have had a gentleman from Durham archives search for any information with regards to my father and his parents. He sent me information that my father entered a Childrens home in Stockton on the 10th August 1917 and left there in 1928. He arrived at the childrens home from the workhouse. I have searched every record possible to find a marriage or death for Richard and Amelia since 2004 but have drawn a blank. The only thing I have found was a death in 1924 in Manchester for a couple with the same name. I have come to the conclusion that they either abandon him or they used somebodies name and not there own.
