Thank you ,you have encouraged me to think more outside the box.As most parents give their christian name to one of their children I looked within five years either way of Ann Sophia's birth for a Joseph.
Joseph Charles Green born 9/11/1815 and baptised 11/10/1818 in Spa Fields Clerkenwell.
Parents Joseph and Ann Maria Green.

Hmm - but Joseph's not said to be deceased on the 1838 marriage cert, and he's a musician.

So Susanna & Joseph are probably not the right family.

The 1st one looks correct as Joseph Green a bead maker of 37,King street was on a document relating to Henry Jabez Green in 1837.

According to 1851 and 1861 censuses, she was born in Shoreditch.
1871 says born St Luke, Middlesex.


The birth/baptism record posted by Malyon is the only one in London 1810-20 with father Joseph.
Maybe she lied about her age, so as not to be much older than Henry, who is stated in censuses to have been born 1817.

I don't see Joseph's death, unless he moved away from that area later in life.
