Find Ancestors

Trying to get any information on my Great Grandparents. All I can find is 1911 census
showing them living at 75 Tonna Road, Caerau, Maesteg, Wales. We have Thomas Richards family bible showing his address as above.

Their children were, Henry,David Thomas, James, Elizabeth Ann,Eleanor, Eunice, Myfanwy, Trevor (born 1912) William, and an adopted child called Roy.

3 of the Grandchildren are still alive, and none have any info their Grandparents apart from their names.

Is there any way of finding out their birth dates, marriage and date of death, with not a lot to cross reference with, and their names being so common.

Thank you, it's so difficult to prove, without any cross reference, I don't need to go back any further in time than this unless it proves which entry it is.

Am just trying to try and find a birth entry for Catherine and a death entry for Thomas and Catherine now you have given me something to go on.

Still having trouble finding a birth entry for Catherine and a death entry for Thomas and Catherine. They are such common names.

No, got it from GR earlier post. Had no idea when either of them were born, all we know in the family is that we think she died aged 48 or 49.

There are 3 grand children still alive but they are all in their late 80's, and they don't know either.

A possibility for Catherine if she was still living in same area as 1911 census and you have age at death right

Bridgend would be the right area in Wales.

Grandaughter was certain that her Grandmother was 48 when she died, probably near enough, but without too much information ie. middle names etc it's so hard to prove.

Catherine Jones births in Machynlleth RD. 1880 +/- 2years.

She is consistent with age - 1901 aged 19 and 1911 aged 29 so born1881/2.

Census dates 1881 - 3 April, 1891 5 April, 1901 31 March, 1911 2 April

So born after census 1881 up to 2 April 1882 would make her 19/29 at later census

The 2 births with ** would therefore be most likely to put her at 19/29 and 49 at death. The Dec. Qtr birth would also be a possibility if a late registration - 6 weeks allowed in which to register so could have been born approx. mid August onwards.

You may have to buy the marriage certificate to see who she named as Father and the family might be picked up on census pre marriage. Her BC would confirm Father and give first and maiden name of Mother to hopefully confirm. It would also give her age at marriage.
