	I think you need to buy James Samuel's birth certificate to find out who his parents are. I still think it's highly unlikely that either James Robert or Samuel will be named on the birth certificate. I doubt any father will be named on it .......only the mother. Note that neither of the entries below give the name of James Samuel's father. 	I doubt he's James's child. The birth entry on the GRO index doesn't give a mmn so probably no father named on the birth certificate and if James was the father of a child and not married to the mother, the birth would be registered in the mother's surname unles he was present. If that was the case the mmn would be on the index. When there is no mmn on the index it usually indicates that her mmn is the same as the surname for the child.

	This seems to be the birth of the grandson on the 1871 census. He's illegitimate but who's his mother? The only daughter I can see for James and Elizabeth is Mary Ann Amelia and she's a bit young to be his mother.
