Hi Everyone I have found the death cert for Jane mcnaught (nee Baxter 2nd Aug 1915 Anderston Glasgow it gives her parents as Henry Baxter and Margaret Douglas , I also found a marriage for Henry and Margaret in 1824 High Church Glasgow but can not find them anywhere after that . I can also not find a marriage cert for John mcnaught and Isabella Maxwell I am really sorry to ask for your help again but i am so stuck and do not know where to go next any help much appreciated many thanks Nellie |

The 1881 census shows Jane Baxter was born in Ireland c 1841, (though the 1891 census has her aged 57, so born c1834) so if the marriage you found is correct, then presumably Henry Baxter and wife Margaret moved to Ireland some time between 1824 and c 1834-1841, when Jane was born. |

Im trying to find the death for my granddad , He was born John Docherty 20 Aug 1899 125 High street Rothesay isle of Bute , his parents were John Docherty and Ellen Campbell they married 7th Nov 1889 Govan Scotland , his wife was Mary McGhee they wed 29th July 1921 , Mary died 17th March 1926 ,.. Due to having a sever illness when I was younger I do not remember anything of my granddads death I have asked my brother ,he thinks the death was sometime in the 60,s early 70,s , I have searched as far as I can but have had no luck , Mary McGhee died in child birth and we believe my granddad remarried but can not find any records of this , Any help greatly welcome Many Thanks ...... They, along with the year & registration district, are the references you'd need to order a copy of the certificate. |

Hi Everyone how do I find out what year George McNaught came from Ireland to Scotland with his wife Jane and children Samuel, Mary and Margaret we have them at ..21 Catherine st Glasgow in 1881 ... I do not know how or where to search when they landed in Scotland any information on how to search for this would be welcome Many Thanks Nellie |

It might be that Jane claimed Poor Relief after George died. The records are indexed and held in The Mitchell Library, Glasgow. If she did claim relief, the record would almost certainly tell you how long the family lived in Glasgow. |

Hi Is there any way I can find out if there was a Newspaper announcement for April 23rd 1886 for a Accident that happened on board a ship ,My great granddad Andrew Frizzle at the age of 49 fell down the ships hold and died of a fractured skull ,I wondered if it would have been in the Newspaper but do not know were to look any help Welcome ...Thank you Nellie |
