I had a look at Shirley's earlier suggestion about getting Mary's DC but according to GRO would not give "widow of" just this info:

A full death record will give you:
•Name
•Date and place of death
•Date and place of birth (before 1969 a certificate only showed the age of the deceased)
•Occupation
•Abode
•Cause of death
•The person who gave the information for the death registration

I realise more recent DCs give more info - like "widow of" or the womans maiden surname, don't think that was the case back then? Unless someone knows different?

I found the MMN by looking for the marriage of her parents, which I posted along with 1861 census info

I hadn't looked for a birth registration - well done you for finding it
