Chris, you said Amelia was "other daughter" - I think you meant she was Thomas's first wife ?

Oh, I see - she was also Jane's sister, so "other daughter" of Jane's parents.

So Richard took his grandfather's name Owen as his father's name - probably didn't know who his father was.

So if his mother's maiden name was Jones, there are lots of possible Owen Jones /Jane Jones marriages.

If the first one, there are several marriages of people named Owen Jones and Jane Evans, in Carnarvon and other places, in the years before 1889.

Can't see a Richard/Owen/Jane family in Wales in 1891.
Nor a Richard/Jane family where father could have been at sea.


EDIT: but of course his mother's mms was Jones, per records above - so he's not the Carnarvon one.
